Emails and spam

We will communicate with you from time to time, via notifications in your profile and/or emails with notifications of registration forms, blogs, news or other related information.

The government of Canada passed legislation to protect you and your inbox from spam. This website's operation is dependent on you receiving emails with notifications of registration forms, blogs, news or other club-related or website-related information.

By consenting to these terms of service, you confirm that you would like to continue to receive emails from this website, as well as related websites (like racerkidz.com and dieselapps.com) and from the organizations you follow (or join), about registration, news, events, blogs and possibly other promotions, and/or products and services.

You may unsubscribe from most of these types of emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe or unfollow instructions at the bottom of each email or by asking us via the Support form.

You can unsubscribe to all emails, including registration and membership emails, by suspending your account.

Cookies

We use cookies to make this site more friendly and useful to you, so you don't have to login every time you visit, tracking your progress etc. We do not share the information collected via our cookies, with any third parties, other than the hosted organizations you join/subscribe to, if any.

The providers of the ads that may be displayed on this site may track you using their usual tracking methods, independent of this site and may or may not provide an "opt out" feature. They may use their own cookies and collect information about you that way. See this topic.

Data we collect

We do not give your information to 3rd parties, other than the hosted organizations you join here, except if obliged under the Canadian law or if we feel compelled to assist in a police investigation or with our partners, to serve you better.

You can ask to have your account and all data we store about you deleted. Note that the hosted organizations you gave extra information to, may have duplicated that and you will have to ask them as well.

Types of data we collect related to you:

• Name and email
• Contact info (address, phone) - this is optional and, if provided, it will be shared with the hosted organizations you may join.
• Year of Birth (for age restrictions)
• Statistics about your activity on the website (topics you read, likes/unlikes, progress through pathways etc).
• Other content you create on the website (comments you may make on topics, messages you may exchange with others on this website like coaches, clubs etc).

Hosted organizations:

• This site has the ability to host organizations (companies, clubs, associations etc)
• The data we collect about you is shared with the hosted organizations you join/follow
• You can leave these organizations at any time and any data collected by us in the future will no longer be shared with them (they will still have any forms you filled out for them as a member. You can request these organizations to have those deleted, pursuant to any agreements you may have with them.
• the hosted organizations you explicitly join may also collect additional data about you:
  • Other types of personal information, as filled out by you in their forms.

The data is stored in the cloud, currently in the U.S., but due to redundancy and fail-over features needed to keep our service resilient, it may be stored temporarily or permanently elsewhere, without us being able to notify you about changes.

In relation to your data, we are the Data Controller. Currently, the Data Processor is Digital Ocean - see the Data Processing Agreement.

We may be both Data Collector and Data Processor, depending on the relation to the organizations you join and how you use their hosted websites.

Note that the hosted organizations that you join may have access to any data you give them by filling out their forms, if you fill out any forms. They may have other terms of use for that data, may print it etc - per their current process.

Hosted organizations

If you are a hosted organization (company, club, individual) and you create any hosted websites you should include our privacy policy in the one you present to your members and visitors.
